Welcome to kashi.io. By accessing or using our application and services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Use. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using kashi.io, whether locally on your machine or through our cloud synchronization service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you must immediately stop using the application.

2. Description of Service

kashi.io is a local-first markdown workspace featuring notes, folder organization, wiki-links, visual themes, a password manager, interactive timeline, spreadsheet, drawing widgets, and real-time user-to-user chat. We provide optional cloud account synchronization, note-sharing collaboration, and an AI assistant grounded in your workspace content.

3. User Responsibilities & Data Backups

• Local Data Management: Since kashi.io operates primarily locally in your browser storage, your notes are subject to deletion if you clear your browser history or site data. You are solely responsible for exporting manual backups of your workspace (via the Action I/O menu) or enabling cloud sync.
• Cloud Encryption Security: If you use our optional end-to-end encryption (Cloud encrypt), you are responsible for remembering your passphrase and keeping your six-word recovery phrase safe. kashi.io staff cannot retrieve, reset, or decrypt your library if credentials are lost.
• Account Credentials: You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Any activity occurring under your account is your responsibility.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use the service to:

• Upload, share, or transmit any content that is illegal, defamatory, harmful, or infringes on others' intellectual property.
• Attempt to disrupt, compromise, or overload kashi.io servers or database operations.
• Abuse AI assistant quotas or limits, or manipulate real-time databases and endpoints.
• Perform automated web crawling or massive scraping on the note publishing nodes.

5. User Content & Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership and all intellectual property rights to the notes, markdown code, diagrams, spreadsheets, drawings, and files you create or upload in kashi.io. We do not claim any license or ownership over your content.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

kashi.io is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the reliability, uptime, accuracy, or permanent persistence of your synced data. Keep backups.

7. Limitations of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, kashi.io and its creators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from data loss, encryption lockout, service interruptions, or unauthorized access to user accounts.

8. Term Modifications

We reserves the right to revise these Terms of Use at any time. We will indicate changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
